Three players Manchester United could sign in the summer transfer window

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s current thoughts will be trying to qualify for next season’s Champions League.

The Red Devils are fifth in the Premier League (currently good enough for Champions League qualification due to Manchester City’s European ban) but with a host of clubs in the mix and 10 games to go, the job is far from done.

Solskjaer will know that qualification for Europe’s elite club competition will impact which players he could potentially bring to Old Trafford in the summer.

There’s already been plenty of reports linking a number of names with a move to the red side of Manchester at the end of the campaign.

So who are the players United could reportedly swoop for? We take a look at three players the Red Devils have been linked with over the past week.

Nathan Collins

According to Sky Sports (via Leeds Live), Manchester United are keeping a close eye on Stoke City defender Nathan Collins.

The 18-year-old has made 12 appearances for the Championship side this term and has reportedly attracted the attentions of the Red Devils.

It’s claimed that United see the Republic of Ireland Under-21 international as a potential star for the future.

The Old Trafford club will continue to monitor the teenager with a view to a potential summer swoop.

Federico Chiesa

According to the Daily Mail, Manchester United are keeping tabs on Fiorentina star Federico Chiesa.

The 22-year-old son of former Italy striker Enrico Chiesa, has already played 137 senior matches for the Serie A club and is himself a senior Azzurri international.

And it’s claimed that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has sent his trusted scout, Simon Wells, to watch the playmaker during Fiorentina’s recent draw against AC Milan.

Chiesa, who has seven goals this season, wouldn’t come cheap though as he is thought to be valued at £60million by his current club.

Emil Forsberg

On to the Express now, who report that Manchester United are interested in RB Leipzig forward Emil Forsberg.

The Sweden international has helped the German side impress in both the Bundesliga and Champions League this term, scoring nine times in all competitions but is looking to leave after falling out with boss Julian Nagelsmann.

It’s claimed that the Red Devils have shown an interest in signing the former Malmo star.

However, the report also states that Tottenham Hotspur and Everton are also keeping tabs on Forsberg.
