Three players Manchester United could sign in the summer transfer window

Ole Gunnar Solskjær is facing a tough period as Manchester United manager.

With the winter transfer window now been and gone, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will now be fully focussed on trying to improve Manchester United’s results on the pitch.

Following the January addition of Bruno Fernandes from Sporting Lisbon, plus the loan capture of striker Odion Ighalo, the Norwegian boss will hope his squad will now have more creativity and goals as he looks to secure a top-four finish.

The Red Devils are currently six points adrift of Chelsea, who occupy the final Champions League spot, with 13 matches remaining.

Whether or not United qualify for Europe’s elite club competition next season, one thing that seems certain is that they will again look to bolster their ranks in the summer.

There’s already been plenty of reports linking a number of players with a move to Old Trafford at the end of the campaign.

So who could the 13-time Premier League champions swoop for? We take a look at three players the Red Devils have recently been linked with…

Jack Grealish

Express Sport report that Manchester United are monitoring Aston Villa’s superstar captain Jack Grealish with a view to a summer swoop.

The 24-year-old has been in impressive form for his beloved Villans this season, registering seven goals and five assists in the Premier League.

It’s claimed that Solskjaer wants to play the creative number 10 alongside new signing Bruno Fernandes and Paul Pogba in a new-look midfield.

Grealish is considered a more realistic signing than Leicester City playmaker James Maddison, who looks likely to be playing Champions League football with Leicester next term.

Kalidou Koulibaly

One player that has been linked with a move to Old Trafford for a long time now is Napoli star Kalidou Koulibaly.

Now, recent reports from the Daily Star claim that the Red Devils still see the Senegal international as the perfect partner for captain Harry Maguire at centre-back.

It’s thought that United will make a move to sign the 28-year-old, who is open to a move to England, in the summer.

However, Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea are also thought to be interested meaning that qualification for next season’s Champions League could prove vital in the chase to land the defender.

Jadon Sancho

As well as linking United with a move for Jack Grealish, Express Sport also report that the Red Devils are keen on signing Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund.

The 19-year-old has starred since making the move to Germany from Manchester City in 2016 and has 15 goals and 14 assists for the Bundesliga side this term.

But the England international could be set to return to his homeland as it’s thought that Solskjaer would love to add him to his forward line alongside Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial.

Sancho, who has scored twice in 11 caps for the Three Lions, is expected to be part of Gareth Southgate’s squad at this summer’s European Championship.
