Three players Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho could sign in January

Mourinho will be hoping for summer acquisitions.

After a difficult start to the season, Tottenham Hotspur are now just three points adrift of the top-four.

Since Jose Mourinho replaced Mauricio Pochettino in November, Spurs have won four of their five Premier League matches.

But despite their upturn in form, we wouldn’t be surprised if the Portuguese boss has one eye on the January transfer window.

With a number of players out of contract in the summer and areas of the squad that need strengthening, the North London club could be busy come the new year.

But who could Spurs possibly move for? We take a look at three players they have been linked with over the last seven days…

Victor Osimhen

Lille starlet Victor Osimhen has been on fire for the French club this term, netting 16 goals in all competitions.

The 20-year-old only signed for the club from Charleroi in the summer and is also prolific at international level having scored four times in nine caps for Nigeria.

Osimhen’s form in front of goal has, according to Sky Sports, caught the attention of Tottenham whose assistant manager, Joao Sacramento, previously worked with the striker at Lille.

However, it’s claimed that both Chelsea and Liverpool are also monitoring the goal-getter’s situation.

Layvin Kurzawa

Paris Saint-Germain defender Layvin Kurzawa is another name to have been linked with a move to Spurs.

Foot Mercato reports that Tottenham have opened talks with the 27-year-old’s representatives as his contract expires with the French champions next summer.

This means they could potentially snap up the France international, who has been limited to just 12 appearances this season, on a free via a pre-contract agreement.

However, it’s also claimed that West Ham United and Manchester United have also held talks over a possible move for the left-back.

Ricardo Pereira

Leicester City full-back Ricard Pereira has starred for the Foxes since signing from FC Porto in the summer of 2018.

The Portugal international, who won the club’s Player of the Year last term, has proven himself to be one of the Premier League’s best in his position.

But reports from Gazet van Antwerpen that Brendan Rodgers faces a battle to keep hold of the 26-year-old as it’s claimed Jose Mourinho would like to bring his fellow countryman to North London.

With just Serge Aurier and Kyle Walker-Peters to choose from at right-back, it would be no surprise if Spurs were keen on Pereira, but prizing him away from the King Power Stadium could prove tricky.
