West Brom manager, Tony Pulis, has pin pointed Sporting Lisbon striker, Islam Slimani, his top target this summer as he looks to add to his attacking armoury, according to the Daily Star.
The 28-year-old bagged 31 goals in 46 appearances last season, helping his side to a second placed finish in Liga NOS, two points behind champions Benfica.
The Algeria international reportedly handed in a transfer request earlier this month amid interest from Everton and Southampton.
The Baggies won their opening Premier Legaue game against Crystal Palace but succumbed to a 2-1 loss against Everton in their first home fixture this season, and manager Pulis admits they need to add quality:
“We’re playing well and we’re creating chances but it’s not just the chances that we’re missing,” said the former Stoke boss.
“We’re getting into the final third and picking the wrong pass. It’s just that bit of extra quality that we need at the moment.”
The midlands side host Middlesbrough at the Hawthorns on Sunday and Pulis will want to get any deal for Slimani done before their next fixture.
