Name: Kemar Roofe
Position: Midfielder
Club: Oxford United
It takes something special for a League Two player to be scouted by Premier League clubs, but that is just what Oxford United seemingly possess in Kemar Roofe.
The attacking midfielder; who turned 22 on Wednesday, has been influential in the Yellows’ title bid and impressive cup runs this campaign, scoring 13 goals and assisting a further six strikes in 28 appearances in all competitions.
Roofe, who originally joined Michael Appleton’s side on loan from West Brom back in February 2015, became an instant hit at the Kassam Stadium before penning a three-year permanent contract with the U’s over the summer.
After never making a first-team appearance for the Baggies during his spell at The Hawthorns; Roofe’s ambition of playing in the Premier League could materialise quicker than first thought as Newcastle United have been reportedly monitoring the attacking midfielder’s heroics this term.
