Top 3 Arsenal players to put in your Fantasy Premier League team for Matchweek 9

With the last international break of 2020 over, the Premier League returns this weekend with Arsenal travelling to take on Leeds United on Sunday (4:30pm kick-off).

After a fairly satisfying start to the season, the Gunners suffered a major setback last time out as they were beaten 3-0 by Aston Villa at the Emirates.

Mikel Arteta, who had also seen his team previously beaten by Leicester, Man City and Liverpool this term, will now be looking for his side to bounce back against a Leeds side who have lost their last two.

Arsenal were stunned by Aston Villa last time out.

The return of club football also means millions of players will be thinking about who select in their Fantasy Premier League teams this weekend.

So whether you’ve had a good, bad or indifferent start, we thought we’d give you some advice ahead of Matchweek 9.

With that in mind, here’s three Arsenal stars who we think could secure vital FPL points against Leeds…

3. Alexandre Lacazette – £8.4m

It’s never really that recommended to pick a striker out of form but this could be Alex Lacazette’s weekend. The Frenchman is still the Gunners’ top scorer in the league this term after netting in the first three matches. With the open manner Leeds play in we expect the 29-year-old to at least get a chance to end his six-game goal drought. You should also note that two of those three goals he has notched so far have come in away matches (Fulham and Liverpool).

2. Hector Bellerin – £5.1m

After a poor defensive display against Villa – we are backing both Arsenal and Hector Bellerin to put in a far more solid display in this one. Prior to that defeat, the Gunners had conceded just seven goals in seven matches – three of which came in the loss at Liverpool. As well as defensively, the fact that the Spaniard is likely to play as a right wing back means he has the chance to add to his two Premier League assists already secured this term. Bellerin is Arsenal’s highest points scorer this season (34) and could add to that at Elland Road.

1. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – £11.7m

Despite not quite having the season we would’ve expected to date, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang should always be considered when selecting your team, especially as he comes under the bracket of a midfielder. The Gabon international only has two Premier League goals so far but both of those did come in away wins at Manchester United and Fulham where Mikel Arteta’s side can counter attack more effectively. The fact Leeds’ style of play will allow them to do just that means it could be the perfect match for the skipper.
