Top 3 Manchester United players who need to impress against Everton in the Premier League this weekend

United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would surely love to have Messi in his squad.

One step forward, two steps backwards seems to be the trend for Manchester United this season.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s squad were playing some of their best football back in June following lockdown, only to start the season terribly.

There’s been the odd result and performance that seemed to suggest that United could kick on, only for dismal displays against Tottenham, Arsenal and most recently Istanbul in the Champions League to bring the Red Devils crashing down to earth.

Currently sitting 15th in the table, there is huge pressure on the current group of players to pull United out of their struggles, or manager Solskjaer faces the very real possibility of losing his job.

It’s clear for all to see that the Norwegian doesn’t know his best team, with players coming in and out the side across every area of the pitch.

With the Premier League’s most successful side heading to Goodison Park Saturday lunchtime, there will be certain players who will be desperate to impress.

Here are our 3 United players to watch in tomorrow’s crucial match against Everton…

3. Harry Maguire

It could be argued that Harry Maguire is under more pressure than any other English footballer. Since the summer the central defender has come under so much scrutiny and his form has dipped hugely since last campaign. Following the utterly shambolic display in Istanbul midweek, Maguire will be desperate for a good performance at Goodison Park tomorrow lunchtime.

2. Luke Shaw

Another United defender who is under increasing pressure is left back Luke Shaw. The ex England international has seen a lot of football in recent weeks, but with Brandon Williams and summer signing Alex Telles in hot pursuit for his starting place, Shaw’s performances need to pick up. We believe he will start again at the weekend, but he must perform or he could see his chances limited under Solskjaer.

1. Paul Pogba

It’s not just in recent weeks that Pogba has come under pressure, he seems to be constantly in the spotlight in a United shirt. Sometimes, he seems to receive unfair stick from United fans and football fans in general. But he has performed well at Goodison Park in the past and we believe Solskjaer will start the World Cup winner tomorrow lunchtime and we wouldn’t be surprised if the talented midfielder stepped up to the plate and delivered for his team.
