Top 3 standout Manchester United players during the 2020/21 season so far

Solskjaer's United seem to have won the race for Pellistri.

Manchester United have suffered a terribly inconsistent start to the season so far, however amongst the chaos there has been some top performers.

The Red Devils, who bounced back from adversity again, with a 3-1 win away to Everton before the international break, will now be desperate for a positive run of form.

However, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer clearly doesn’t know his best team and there has been some poor displays amongst the good this season.

So, after much debate, here are our top-3 standout Manchester United players in the 2020/21 season… so far.

3. David de Gea

Following his poor form last campaign and with Dean Henderson returning to the club to fight for his shirt, it could be argued that the Spaniard was under more pressure than ever before in a United shirt. However, despite his side’s inconsistent form, the shot-stopper has hardly put a foot wrong this season. He is still the club’s undisputed number one and seems to be enjoying life at United once again.

2. Scott McTominay

Many United fans may have seen Scott McTominay as more of a squad player for the Red Devils. But the Scotland international’s performances have put him ahead of Nemanja Matic and to a certain extent Paul Pogba in Solskjaer’s eyes. United simply look a much better side when the all-action midfielder is playing and following his country qualifying for a major tournament for the first time in 22 years this week, we expect McTominay to come back from international break and continue his good form.

1. Bruno Fernandes

By far and away the best players in a United shirt this season, is Bruno Fernandes. Where would the Red Devils be without their talisman this season? The Portugal international has scored six goals in all competitions this season and assisted another five and his overall play is so integral to this United team. Above all that, Fernandes’ work rate is second to none and he is almost certainly the first name on the team sheet for Solskjaer this term.
