2. Nigel Pearson

Pearson worked a miracle at Leicester last season.

Pearson seems to be the fans’ preference for the job because he has a track record with Leicester City in winning League One and the Championship, as well as guiding them to safety in the Premier League when they appeared to be dead and buried this time last year.

Those attributes are in line with what Lansdown is looking for; a manger who can help teams survive but then also thrive towards the top of the division.

You have to look at where the Foxes are this term and consider that the team Claudio Ranieri is working with is full of shrewd signings made by Pearson, who started that momentum last term before only leaving the club due to a dispute over his son.

The only thing that will go against him is his image in the media. Famously he called a journalist an “ostrich” last season in a number of strained, and strange, press conferences he gave.
