3. Neil Warnock

Warnock was interim boss at QPR before they appointed Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.

A more realistic option than the previous two names but one the fans would be against from the start is the wily Neil Warnock.

The 67-year-old has seen it all but to say he’s not the most popular man in South Bristol would be putting it very lightly.

In 2008, City played Crystal Palace in a play-off semi-final, with the west-country side progressing to Wembley, but Warnock, who was the Eagles boss at the time, provoked fans in the build up to those matches.

However, stranger marriages have worked in football and in the former QPR chief there is an available manager who has so much experience and success at this level.
