5. Joe Gomez (Aged 20)

Although naturally a centre-back, Joe Gomez is also comfortable playing as a full-back on either side.

Blessed with pace, strength and good technical ability, Gomez has all the traits needed to become a top-class defender in the future.

After featuring 24 times for Charlton Athletic as a 17-year-old, the highly rated youngster made the move to Liverpool for a fee believed to be around the £3m mark.

After a promising start to life at Liverpool, unfortunately for Gomez he would suffer an anterior cruciate ligament injury, a setback which would keep him out for a year.

Now 20 years of age, Gomez’s progress has seemed to have slowed and he now finds himself on the periphery of the of the Liverpool first-team.

However, if his performances in a Charlton shirt, as well as a promising start to life at Liverpool is anything to go by, Gomez has the potential to be a full England international in the future.

4. Tammy Abraham (Aged 19)

Despite only being 19 years of age, Tammy Abraham was in electric form last season at Bristol City.

His 23 goals in the league saw him finish second in the goalscoring charts, three behind Leeds United’s Chris Wood.

These goals were vital for Bristol City as they finished in 17th position, just three points above the relegation zone.

Scoring that many goals for a struggling side is testament to Abraham’s goalscoring ability and makes his tally even more impressive. Having narrowly steered clear of relegation, it can be argued that without the youngster’s goals, Bristol City would have been relegated.

Equipped with physical strength and lethal finishing, Abraham has the potential to be a leading Premier League striker in the future.

However, with opportunities for youngsters at Chelsea being few and far between, Abraham will have his work cut out as he looks to establish himself as a first-choice striker at the Premier League champions.

3. Ryan Sessegnon (Aged 17)

Ryan Sessegnon has been a revelation this season and despite being only 17-years of age, he has established himself as a regular in a good Fulham side.

His performances have attracted the attention of the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea, meaning The Cottagers have a huge battle to keep their teenage sensation on their hands this summer.

Last season, Sessegnon made 27 appearances and netted seven times. His performances have been so impressive that he was named in the 2016-2017 PFA Championship Team of the Year.

Comfortable everywhere down the left-hand side, Sessegnon is a player who is comfortable in both defence and attack.

With maturity way beyond his years, he looks set to secure himself to a top Premier League side somewhere in the not too distant future.

Sessegnon also had a twin brother on the books at Fulham named Steven – watch out for him in the future too!

2. Tom Davies (Aged 18)

Ronald Koeman has a number of young talent at his disposal; having called upon the likes of Mason Holegate, Matthew Pennington, Ademola Lookman and Dominic Calvert-Lewin last season. But the best of the lot is Tom Davies.

The 18-year-old has had a dream first season at Everton. Blessed with tenacity, technical ability and a good work rate; Davies has made his mark this season in several Premier League games.

Since making his first top-flight start in a 3-0 victory over Southampton in January, Davies has been an ever-present for the Merseyside club. In total, he has featured 23 times this season, netting two goals – including a superb solo effort against Manchester City. He has also racked up three assists.

The Evertonian is yet to make appear for England beyond the Under-19 age group, but if he carries on his form, then it seems only a matter of time before Gareth Southgate selects him for his squad.

Marcus Rashford is not just one of the most talented footballers in England, he is also one of the most talented youngsters in world football.

After a fantastic first year as a professional last season, expectations were high for the talented forward. Despite not hitting the highs that many would have expected from him, at 19 years of age, Rashford has all but established himself as a regular at Manchester United.

This term, Rashford appeared 49 times for his club, scoring 11 goals. Despite having not reached his twenties, the youngster has already appeared nine times for his country, where he scored on his debut.
