With the latest international break over and the Premier League set to return tomorrow, and with just seven or eight league games remaining of the season for selective teams, Fantasy Team managers up and down the country will be weighing up top transfer targets to achieve a strong end to their 2017-18 campaign.

So, to help out, Shoot! has taken a closer look at this term’s Top 5 Fantasy Premier League Players, just in case you can afford the luxury of having these match winners in your squad during the crucial run-in.

Before we break away into the Top 5, let’s take a quick look at the players who make up the Top 10. The tenth best player this season, so far, is Chelsea winger Eden Hazard with 149 points, having scored 11 league goals.

Tottenham’s Christian Eriksen.

At number nine is Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen (153pts), having netted seven goals and provided nine assists. In eighth is Spurs team mate Son Heung-min, just one point ahead of Eriksen on 154, scoring 12 league goals so far this campaign.

Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez is seventh on 161 points, being directly involved in 19 league goals for The Foxes, and in sixth, just missing out on our Top 5 feature, is Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino (163pts), having found the back of the net 14 times in 30 outings.

5. Sergio Aguero (Manchester City)

Spearheading champions-elect Manchester City’s title charge is star striker Sergio Aguero.

The 29-year-old has accumulated 169 points, scoring 21 goals and registering six assists in just 24 league games for Pep Guardiola’s men so far this term.

4. Harry Kane (Tottenham Hotspur)

Another prolific forward, but currently sidelined with injury, is Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane on 179 points.

The 24-year-old England striker has netted 24 league goals in 29 appearances this season, but is ruled out until at least next month after suffering an ankle injury against AFC Bournemouth.

3. Raheem Sterling (Manchester City)

Another England international, Manchester City winger Raheem Sterling is rated third best this season, despite being level on 179 points with Kane.

The 23-year-old has scored 15 goals and provided 10 assists in 26 Premier League games for the runaway leaders.

2. Kevin De Bruyne (Manchester City)

A third Manchester City star in our Top 5 feature, midfielder Kevin De Bruyne has been in sensational form for Pep Guardiola’s champions-elect.

The 26-year-old Belgian has racked up 183 points in the Fantasy League, having found the back of the net seven times and assisted 14 Premier League strikes this campaign.

1. Mohamed Salah (Liverpool)

And finally, at number one, is the Premier League’s star signing of the season – Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah.

Having arrived from AS Roma back in June 2017 following his club-record £34.3m transfer, the 25-year-old winger leads the way in the Fantasy Premier League with a whopping 266 points!

The Egypt international has scored a remarkable 28 goals and registered 10 assists in just 30 league games during his debut season at Anfield.
