Everybody loves beating their arch-rivals, so Saturday May 12, 2012, will live long in the memory of Klopp. Having already guided his club to back-to-back Bundesliga titles, BVB capped off a remarkable campaign by humiliating Bayern Munich 5-2 inside Berlin’s Olympiastadion to lift the German Cup, a result that remained as Klopp’s largest margin of victory as Dortmund manager over their fierce opponents. Efforts from Shinji Kagawa and Mats Hummels were followed up by a terrific hat-trick from star striker Robert Lewandowski to seal the club’s first-ever Bundesliga and German Cup double. After this record-breaking day, Dortmund defeated Munich just three times in the next 13 meetings under Klopp’s reign.
