With the Euro 2016 play-offs kicking off on Thursday, eight teams will be looking to claim the final four spots in next summer’s tournament.

Here we take a look at the five players who could make the difference and steer their country to France.

5. Milivoje Novakovic (Slovenia)

Not a name many will recognise, but Novakovic has played a big role in getting Slovenia into the play-offs. Currently plying his trade in Japan for Nagoya Grampus, he netted six times in just seven games during the qualifying campaign, including once against England in June. Slovenia will be pinning most of their hopes on their striker when they face Ukraine over two legs. Even more remarkably, the 36-year-old actually retired from international football in 2012, but decided to return a year later.
