2. Manchester City 1-4 Liverpool (November 21)
Liverpool dashed Manchester City’s hopes of returning to the top of the Premier League as they showed more indication of the significant improvement that has occurred under new manager Jurgen Klopp, with an emphatic victory at the Etihad.
The German’s side tore City apart with a impressive first-half performance, which saw them race into a 3-0 lead courtesy of an early Eliaquim Mangala’s own goal and cool strikes from Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino.
Sergio Aguero pulled a goal back on the stroke of half-time but the hosts were guilty of some shambolic defending as they failed to cope without their captain Vincent Kompany.
However, the Reds were very impressive and never looked like being pegged back further as Martin Skrtel struck a thunderous late fourth to confirm their superiority.
Klopp has certainly stamped his authority on his side as he’ll look to make this shock victory a more regular occurrence.
