2. Jamie Vardy, record-breaker
Jamie Vardy’s incredible feat of scoring in 11 consecutive Premier League matches, surpassing Ruud van Nistelrooy’s 12-year record of 10, has been rightly well documented.
The former non-league player’s achievement is now already in early discussions to hit the big screen, with a Hollywood film focusing on his meteoric rise from playing for ninth division side Stocksbridge Park Steels to the England national team.
Vardy has scored in a record 11 consecutive Premier League games
Vardy began the season as a rank outside 500/1 bet to win the Golden Boot but with 14 games played he currently sits four goals clear of Everton’s Romelu Lukaku on 14 for the campaign.
His goalscoring run, which dates back to the 1-1 draw away at Bournemouth in August, means that he has only failed to find the net just once this season, against Spurs.
Now cementing a regular place in Roy Hodgson’s England squad, the apparent Chelsea and Manchester United target looks a shoe-in for France 2016.
