3. Steve McClaren (Newcastle United)

McClaren has endured a tough start

Brought in to replace the inexperienced John Carver and given financial backing from Mike Ashley, many Newcastle fans would’ve thought this would be the season where their club get back on track. But only two wins all term and positioned one place above the relegation zone, it’s a case of déjà vu for Magpies fans. The signings McClaren brought in suggestion that he is planning a long-term project, with 20-year-old Aleksandar Mitrovic and 22-year-old Florian Thauvin, but whether he is given the time to see out the project remains to be seen. Unless results improve, expect a new man to be at the helm at St James’ Park before the end of the campaign.
