5. John Obi Mikel (Chelsea)

Guus Hiddink’s return to Stamford Bridge sparked a change in scenery for John Obi Mikel. Instead of sitting on the sidelines and making cameo appearances under Jose Mourinho, Mikel has become an integral part of the resurgent Chelsea squad and is playing with more confidence than most of the squad.

A tough start to the season saw the team’s confidence heavily decrease. However; as previously mentioned, Mikel was rarely playing in that first-team squad so was hardly affected. Playing in the same way that Nemanja Matic did last season, the Nigerian international could be crucial in getting the Blues’ campaign back on track.
