Top 5: Premier League Players of the Weekend

1. Jamie Vardy (Leicester City)

Last Monday, Jamie Vardy had a party as Leicester City were crowned Premier League champions as Tottenham Hotspur could only manage to draw at Chelsea.

On Saturday evening, the 29-year-old starred as the champions strode to a 3-1 victory against Everton, with the England international scoring twice.

His first came after just five minutes as he converted Andy King’s cross from six yards.

The forward was then brought down by Matthew Pennington for a spot-kick, which he duly converted to notch his 24th league goal of the season.

Despite missing a chance for a first Premier League hat-trick as he blazed a second spot-kick over the bar, it was all smiles as the former non-league man and his Leicester teammates were presented with the trophy at full-time.
