2. Sadio Mane (Liverpool)
Debutant Mane had a sensational first league game for his new club as he played a crucial role in Liverpool’s 4-3 win over Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.
His direct and purposeful running was a constant nuisance to the Arsenal back four, in particular Nacho Monreal, who struggled to deal with the 24-year-old who moved from Southampton to Merseyside earlier this summer.
His performance was rewarded with a goal from a fine solo effort as he tormented Calum Chambers before leaving him in his wake as he created space to fire the ball high into the top corner and put Liverpool 4-1 up.
If this type of performance continues, it will be the first of many in which the Senegal international will justify the initial £34m spent on him.
