Manchester City have opened up a four-point lead at the top of the Premier League table as they continued their 100 per cent winning start to the season with a 3-1 win at Swansea City.

Tottenham have moved into second place after their impressive 2-1 win at Middlesbrough, whilst Arsenal, Liverpool and Everton sit a point behind them on 13 points.

Elsewhere; there were wins for Manchester United, AFC Bournemouth, Liverpool, Crystal Palace, Arsenal, Southampton and Burnley.

But in a week of spectacular attacking performances, who were the top performers?

Here’s SHOOT’s Top 5 Premier League Players of the Weekend…

Paul Pogba (Manchester United)

A fantastic first-half display saw Manchester United decimate reigning champions Leicester City as they went into the interval 4-0 up, largely due to the dominating performance of Pogba.

The France international played arguably his best match so far in a United shirt as he made game high statistics of 99 passes, of which 65 were in the Foxes’ half, 115 touches of the ball, three key passes and two shots on target.

One of those shots on target was a bullet header from a Daley Blind cross which found its way past Kasper Schmeichel to round off the first-half scoring.

A fantastic strike from Demarai Gray pulled one back for the visitors, but it was the most expensive footballer in the world who stole the headlines with a commanding performance as the Red Devils were back to their scintillating best.

Heung-Min Son (Tottenham)

The South Korean international continued his rich vein of scoring form with a brace against Middlesbrough, his third and fourth league goals of the season, equalling his total for the last campaign.

The 24-year-old put Spurs ahead on seven minutes as he took Vincent Janssen’s lay-off in his stride before beating Callum Chambers and firing the ball under goalkeeper Victor Valdes.

The three-time Korean Footballer of the Year then doubled his tally with a superb strike from the left side of the area into the opposite top corner with his right foot.

Boro halved the deficit in the second-half through Ben Gibson, but Mauricio Pochettino’s men hung on to move into second place in the Premier League as they host leaders Manchester City at White Hart Lane this Sunday.

Alexis Sanchez (Arsenal)

It was a goal and an assist for the Chilean forward as Arsenal stunned Chelsea with a convincing 3-0 win at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday evening.

The lacklustre Gary Cahill was caught short with a poor back pass, which allowed Sanchez to race through and dink the ball over Thibaut Courtois to put the Gunners ahead.

After being involved in the build-up for Arsene Wenger’s side’s second, the 27-year-old claimed an assist of his own as he clipped the ball over to Mesut Ozil, whose shot bounced into the ground and into the net for a 3-0 half-time lead.

Chelsea were unrecognisable from a typical Antonio Conte team as Wenger oversaw a fantastic result as the club celebrate his 20th year in charge.

Sergio Aguero (Manchester City)

Fresh after a three-game ban, Aguero continued where he left off with a brace as City ran out as 3-1 winners against Swansea City.

The Argentina international put the Citizens ahead within the opening ten minutes as a delightful touch took him clear of the defence before firing across Lukasz Fabianski into the opposite bottom corner.

Fernando Llorente equalised for the hosts, but the two-time Premier League winner resorted the visitors’ advantage as he converted from the spot after Kevin De Bruyne was elbowed in the area.

Under Pep Guardiola, the Sky Blues currently look unbeatable, and their 28-year-old talisman striker looks to be in the form of his life having scored 28 goals in his last 27 Premier League outings.

Adam Lallana (Liverpool)

After a difficult start to life on Merseyside, Lallana is enjoying a new lease of life under Jürgen Klopp as he starred in Liverpool’s 5-1 win at home to Hull City on Saturday.

The England international opened the scoring midway through the first-half as he collected a ball from Philippe Coutinho in the area, before scuffing a strike into the bottom corner.

His neat turn on the edge of the area gave him space to find Sadio Mane, who fired in low to make it 3-0 and the 28-year-old England international grabbed another assist as his pass found Coutinho, who scored a spectacular goal for 4-1.

His first-half strike now means he has scored four goals in his last eight league games, a total which took him 42 games previously as he looks to have been reinvigorated under manager Klopp.
