1. Mario Gaspar

Gaspar struck the winner on his Spain debut against Ukraine in October

The youngest of our picks, 24-year-old Gaspar has played for Villarreal since youth level and made his first senior appearance at just 18 when he played against Atletico Madrid.

Since then, the right-back has played 152 times in La Liga and has impressed enough to put himself in with a chance of  making next summer’s Euros.

The Spaniard has plenty of time to establish himself as a first-team regular for the national team but has some competition; Chelsea’s César Azpilicueta, Real Madrid’s Dani Carvajal and Atletico Madrid’s Juanfran are Del Bosque’s other right-back options.

However, with Azpilicueta neing picked at left-back, Carvajal contending with new Madrid signing Danilo for first-team football and Juanfran now over 30 years of age, Mario’s regular football and youth could turn him into the number one choice.

He went the right way about doing just that when he scored the winner against Ukraine on his debut back in October.
