Top 5: Swansea City managerial contenders

1. Marcelo Bielsa

Bielsa in his Marseille days

You’re probably thinking “Marcelo who?”, but Bielsa is the most experienced of the five contenders. With a CV including spells in charge of Argentina, Chile, Athletic Bilbao, Marseille and Espanyol, it’s fair to say he’s well travelled. But, as we know, English football is different, and the fact he hasn’t managed over here before means it would be a risky move for the Swans. He is known as a coaching pioneer having introduced a 3-3-3-1 formation which allows for an expansive, slick style of play, something the Swans would be keen on.
