In 2005 AND 2006, Nigerian starlet John Obi Mikel was a man in demand. Playing the Norwegian League, he was courted by a number of Europe’s elite, with one of these teams being Manchester United. The club announced they had struck a deal with the midfielder and he had agreed to join them. However, Chelsea had also claimed they had an agreement with Mikel’s agents. In a Press Conference, Mikel expressed his delight at joining United and even wore their shirt. However, there were claims that the African was pressured into signing the contract with the Red Devils. After months of investigations, an agreement was finally met between United, Chelsea, and Lyn Oslo, Mikel’s team at the time. With John Obi Mikel still a Blues player, did the Nigerian make the right decision?
