Just six games into the new season and the Premier League table is already taking shape. With the likes of Manchester City, Manchester United, West Ham and Leicester all pulling away at the top, the teams at the bottom are already being left behind.
It’s not just the classic ‘mid-table’ teams that are struggling either. Chelsea, who have managed just seven points from six games, are already eight points behind the league leaders, and had they not beaten Arsenal at the weekend, they would be four places from the bottom.
Newcastle and Sunderland, who are both still searching for their first win, have made the worst starts, taking just two points from their opening fixtures. But what other poor EPL starts to a season have there been since the league’s inception in 1992?
