Manchester United have reportedly made a £62m (€70m) bid for Italy international striker Andrea Belotti, according to Tuttosport (via calciomercato.com).

The Premier League side, who finished sixth in the English top-flight table last term, but defeated Ajax in the 2017 UEFA Europa League final to qualify for the UEFA Champions League, have been continually linked with a mega-money summer swoop for the Torino hitman.

The 23-year-old, who has nine international caps for the Azzurri, scored 28 goals and provided eight assists in 38 appearances in all competitions for the Serie A outfit last season.

Belotti, who is understood to have a release clause worth £88m, has been earmarked as an alternative striker target to Real Madrid’s Alvaro Morata by Red Devils manager Jose Mourinho.

The ‘Special One’ is on the lookout for a top goalscorer after the club decided to release 28-goal Zlatan Ibrahimovic towards the end of the previous 2016-17 campaign.

However, the transfer of Belotti looks far from a done deal, as the report claims Torino have already rejected United’s offer for the Italian.
