Tottenham Hotspur travel to Germany to face Eintracht Frankfurt in the second leg of their Europa League quarter-final on Thursday night.

The two sides played out a 1-1 draw in North London last week, although Spurs were beaten 4-2 by struggling Wolves in their last Premier League outing.

That defeat left Ange Postecoglou’s side 15th in the top flight standings, and the Australian will know that his side’s only chance of qualifying for next season’s Champions League will be by winning the Europa League.

Off the pitch, it has emerged that Spurs could lose one of their attacking stars this summer.

According to Football Insider, German side Bayern Munich plan to include Mathys Tel in their squad for this summer’s Club World Cup.

Tel is expected to leave Tottenham when his loan finishes

Tel, 19, joined Spurs on loan from the Bundesliga giants in January and has since played 1 times for the London side, scoring three times.

It is claimed that Tottenham will struggle to convince Tel to stay put in the capital if they fail to qualify for European football next term.

At present Spurs have the opportunity to sign the attacker permanently for a fee of around £45 million, however Bayern are set to recall the player once Spurs’ season finishes in order for him to be involved in the Club World Cup in the United States this summer.

The Lilywhites will, however, aim to agree a reduced fee for the Frenchman, with talks between the two clubs set to continue.

Tel’s versatility has been useful for Postecoglou since his arrival in January, with the France Under-21 international able to play centrally or on the left flank.
