Tottenham Hotspur are in talks to sign defender Kim Min-jae from Beijing Guoan, according to reports.

Spurs are making smart moves in the transfer market this summer with Matt Doherty, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Joe Hart all arriving for a combined £30million.

Now, according to Italian journalist Nicolo Schira, it looks as though boss Jose Mourinho is trying to add another value for money signing to his squad.

Doherty completed his £15million move from Wolves over the weekend.

It’s claimed that Spurs are in negotiations with the Chinese club who are looking for £13.5million for the 23-year-old.

Kim, who is the international teammate of Spurs star Son Heung-min, joined Beijing in January 2019 and has since played 38 times.

The defender previously played his football with Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors and Gyeongju KHNP so has yet to play in Europe.

If the North London side do complete the signing of the Korean then he will fill the space left in the squad following Jan Vertonghen’s departure to Benfica
