Tottenham Hotspur Predicted XI: We predict Jose Mourinho’s starting XI, as his side take the short trip to Crystal Palace in the Premier League

Mourinho is looking to add a striker to his Spurs squad.

Tottenham Hotspur have the opportunity to extend their unbeaten run in the Premier League to 11 games on Sunday, after beating their north London rivals Arsenal last weekend.

Spurs’ last league defeat was a 1-0 loss at home to Everton way back on September 13 and since then, Jose Mourinho’s side have gone on an incredible run as some fans dare to dream about a first Premier League title.

Tottenham have taken advantage of the average early season form of some of the Premier League’s big hitters, such as Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal as they occupy the top spot of a wide open league.

The test for Mourinho’s men will now be the longevity of their success. If one or two injuries were to affect the thinner areas of the Spurs squad, it would be interesting to see how the side cope.

Here we predict Mourinho’s starting XI to face Roy Hodgson’s  side…

Goalkeeper:

Hugo Lloris will keep his place in the starting XI, as he does for all league games this season. Last week there was talk of Spurs’ number two, Joe Hart coming into the side, due to an injury sustained by the World Cup winner. But Lloris made the team and kept yet another clean sheet.

Defenders:

After a lot of chopping and changing in the early parts of the season, it seems Mourinho has found his preferred back four. And we expect the former Chelsea and Manchester United manager to name his very best team this afternoon. Sergio Reguilon will be deployed left back with Serge Aurier operating on the opposite flank. That leaves the trusted centre back partnership of Eric Dier and Toby Alderweireld.

Midfielders:

Just like his back four, we believe Mourinho’s found his best midfield three also. We back Mourinho to select Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Moussa Sissoko to try and prevent Palace feeding their attacking players. Ahead of the defensive midfielders, we expect Tanguy Ndombele to play a more advanced role in behind the striker.

Forwards:

Harry Kane will be the first name on the team sheet as usual, as he looks to build on his eight Premier League goals this season. With two more goals than his striker partner, Son Heung-Min will be hoping to continue his excellent run of form. Steven Bergwijn, started last week against the Gunners, but we feel Mourinho will put his trust in Lucas Moura for this afternoon’s encounter.

Tottenham’s starting XI: Lloris, Aurier, Alderweireld, Dier, Reguilon, Sissoko, Hjobjerg, Ndombele, Moura, Son, Kane
