Mourinho is looking to add a striker to his Spurs squad.

Tottenham Hotspur Predicted XI: We predict Spurs manager Jose Mourinho’s starting XI as they host Manchester City in the Premier League’s game of the day.

After a shaky start to the season, Spurs have really hit the ground running now and are considered to be genuine Premier League title contenders.

The partnership of Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son, with players such as Gareth Bale and Lucas Moura providing attacking back-up, Jose Mourinho’s men will scare any defence in the Premier League.

However, the North London outfit will not be favourites going into today’s 5:30pm kick off against Manchester City at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Although, in this fixture last season the men in white came out 2-0 winners and will certainly fancy themselves again this afternoon as they look to continue their good form.

So which players will the Portuguese boss task with the challenge of beating his old rival Pep Guardiola?

Here we predict Mourinho’s XI…

Goalkeeper: Despite Joe Hart’s arrival, Hugo Lloris is the undisputed number 1 and the club captain. The Frenchman will therefore start once again in the Premier League and will be hoping to claim a clean sheet today against the sparkling attacking line-up of Manchester City.

Defenders: Eric Dier has emerged from the shadows to become Mourinho’s most-trusted centre back this season and is likely to start the match this afternoon alongside the experienced Toby Alderweireld. Matt Doherty has unfortunately contracted Coronavirus on international duty so Serge Aurier will come in at right back and summer signing Sergio Reguilon – who has been very impressive – will start at left back.

Midfielders: Big-money signing Tanguy Ndombele is finally proving his worth in a Tottenham shirt and will be hoping to get the nod today, however, Mourinho may choose to start with Giovanni Lo Celso in that position for his tenacity. We’re backing Ndobbele to keep his starting place with experienced pair Moussa Sissoko and Pierre-Emile Højbjerg behind him in a midfield three.

Forwards: The attacking positions are where Spurs are at their scintillating best, and their forward-minded players will have to be on top of their game again today, if they want to secure all three points. Harry Kane will be the first player on the team sheet and Son will not be far behind. However, we believe Mourinho will not start Gareth Bale and instead play Lucas Moura in the wide position.

Predicted XI: Lloris; Aurier, Alderweireld, Dier, Reguilon; Hojbjerg, Ndombele, Sissoko; Moura, Son, Kane.
