Tottenham Hotspur Predicted XI: We predict Spurs manager Jose Mourinho’s starting XI for Sunday’s London derby against West Ham United

Tottenham Hotspur Predicted XI: We predict Spurs manager Jose Mourinho’s starting XI for Sunday’s London derby against West Ham United.

After losing their opening match at home against Everton, Tottenham have kick started their season with two big wins and a draw in their last three matches.

After thrashing Southampton 5-2 at St Mary’s, Mourinho’s men went goal-crazy on the road once again as they defeated Manchester United 6-1 last time out.

However, a draw at home against Newcastle between those standout results means that Spurs are still searching for their first Premier League victory at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this season.

Visiting them on Sunday are London rivals West Ham United who will be entering the game full of confidence after impressive back-to-back victories against Wolves and Leicester respectively.

With the players having returned from an international break and the Europa League group stage kicking off on Thursday, Mourinho will have to utilise his squad in order to keep the performances at the level shown at Old Trafford.

So which players will the Portuguese boss task with the challenge of beating the Hammers?

Here we predict Mourinho’s XI…

Goalkeeper: Despite Joe Hart’s arrival, Hugo Lloris is the undisputed number 1 and the club captain. The Frenchman will therefore start once again in the Premier League and will be hoping to claim his first clean sheet of the season on what will be his 332nd appearances for the club.

Defenders: Eric Dier is a doubt for Spurs after sitting out England’s defeat to Denmark with a hamstring injury. This means he could miss out which would see Toby Alderweireld come back into the XI to partner Davinson Sanchez at the heart of the back-four. On the flanks, Serge Aurier and Sergio Reguilon are expected to keep their place, with Matt Doherty and Ben Davies waiting in the wings.

Midfielders: Again with the midfield, it’s very hard to change things up after such an emphatic performance so we feel Mourinho will stick to that same three. This means Tanguy Ndombele will get another chance to impress alongside fellow Frenchman Moussa Sissoko. Marshalling the middle of the park behind that trio should be Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg. The Dane has done well since his summer switch from Southampton and has started every Premier League game so far.

Forwards: Gareth Bale is in contention to make his second debut for Spurs since sealing his loan move from Real Madrid. However, with the Welshman still working his way to full match sharpness, Mourinho is expected to start with the front-three of Erik Lamela, Son Heung-min and Harry Kane. The trio tore Manchester United apart at Old Trafford and will look to do the same to the Irons. Bale’s fellow signing, Carlos Vinicius, will also be expected to start as a substitute.

Predicted XI: Lloris; Aurier, Alderweireld, Sanchez, Reguilon; Hojbjerg, Ndombele, Sissoko; Lamela, Son, Kane.
