Tottenham Hotspur’s predicted XI: We predict Jose Mourinho’s starting XI for his side’s trip to Sheffield United

Mourinho as always been a fan of Aaron Ramsey.

Tottenham Hotspur’s predicted XI: We predict Jose Mourinho’s starting XI for his side’s trip to Sheffield United.

Spurs go up against the Blades this evening, with both clubs still with an outside chance of Champions League qualifcation next season.

The games is significant for both clubs in many ways. Not only does it see Spurs boss Jose Mourinho face-up against his former team for the second time, it is also significant in the race for the Champions League.

For the dream of top European football to be realised, one of these sides needs all three points tonight or Europa League football may be the only offering.

This will be Mourinho’s third fixture since the return of football, having drawn 1-1 against Manchester United and beat West Ham United 2-0.

The North Londoners cannot settle for a draw tonight though and will expect to go all out for victory, attempting to capitalise on Sheffield’s poor form since football returned.

So which Tottenham players will be tasked with the challenge of getting three points tonight? Here we predict Mourinho’s XI…

Goalkeeper: Following a nasty elbow injury earlier in the season, Spurs’ number one Hugo Lloris returned to football before lockdown and will be expected to start tonight.

Defenders: It’s quite clear that Mourinho doesn’t know what his best back four is. In the past, the Portuguese manager has been reluctant to rotate his back four, but has done quite the opposite with Spurs. However, following the clean sheet against the Hammers, we think Mourinho will stick with a back four of Serge Aurier, Davison Sanchez, Eric Dier and Ben Davies.

Midfielders: There were some strong midfield performances in Spurs’ last outing, so we expect Giovani Lo Celso to start alongside Moussa Sissoko. However. Deli Alli struggled to find the space to operate and Lucas Moura did not get into the game, so we expect Eric Lamela to play behind the attackers.

Forwards: Harry Kane got on the scoresheet last week and is clearly determined to reach full fitness, after looking weary against Man United, the England talisman ran himself into the ground against West Ham. Kane will start with Heung-min Son and Steven Bergwijn.

Predicted XI: Hugo Lloris; Serge Aurier, Davinson Sanchez, Eric Dier, Ben Davies; Giovani Lo Celso, Moussa Sissoko, Eric Lamela; Harry Kane, Heung-min Son, Steven Bergwijn
