A 2-1 defeat against Nottingham Forest on Monday night piled yet more pressure on Tottenham Hotspur boss Ange Postecoglou.

Forest raced into an early 2-0 lead courtesy of goals by Elliot Anderson and Chris Wood, but Spurs were unable to respond until the closing stages when Richarlison fired past Mats Sels.

Spurs have endured a dismal campaign so far and currently sit 16th in the Premier League table with just five games remaining.

Postecoglou’s side are therefore set to miss out on qualification for any form of European competition next term, unless they can triumph in the Europa League and secure their place in next term’s Champions League.

The Australian is under significant pressure in North London after yet another poor result, but off the pitch it appears that those in charge of the club are preparing to sell one of his key players.

As per TBR Football, Tottenham are willing to sell full-back Pedro Porro this summer if a suitable offer is received.

Porro, 25, has been arguably one of Spurs’ most impressive performers during what has been a torrid campaign so far.

Porro is a target for former club Manchester City

The Spaniard first moved to England in 2019 when he joined Manchester City, before spending time on loan in Spain and Portugal and, eventually, moving permanently to Sporting CP.

He then returned to the Premier League to join Spurs in 2023, but the report claims that the Citizens are now considering a move to re-sign the player.

It is claimed that Spurs would be willing to sell Porro – who has played 100 times for the London side – for a fee in excess of £50 million this summer.

Porro’s current contract with Tottenham is set to expire in the summer of 2028, but the club could cash in on him in order to raise funds for other new signings.

This season, Djed Spence has forced his way into contention to be Spurs’ first choice right-back, making a total of 29 appearances for Postecoglou’s side.
