Hugo Lloris is Tottenham’s greatest goalkeeper of all time, according to Spurs legend Teddy Sheringham, via the Evening Standard.

The 29-year-old, who has been named on the 30-man shortlist for the 2016 Ballon d’Or award, has kept six clean sheets in 11 appearances in all competitions for the Premier League side so far this season.

Having joined the White Hart Lane outfit back in August 2012 from French side Lyon, the shot stopper has become an integral part of Mauricio Pochettino’s first-team plans at the club, including being appointed captain last summer.

After conceding just one goal from open play in the Premier League so far this campaign, former Tottenham striker Sheringham, 50, told the Evening Standard, “Lloris – very lively, agile goalie and a rock and foundation of the team right now,” when asked to pick out Spurs’ best ever goalkeeper.

Sheringham’s high opinion of the France international saw Lloris surpass the likes of Ray Clemence, Ted Ditchburn, Bill Brown and Pat Jennings to his ultimate number one jersey.
