Tottenham Predicted XI vs Man City: Tanguy Ndombele set to return for Spurs

Tottenham Hotspur take on Manchester City on Sunday aiming to close the gap between themselves and the top-four. 

Jose Mourinho’s side currently sit eighth in the table but know a win against the champions will move them up to fifth and within four points of Chelsea, who currently occupy the final Champions League spot.

However, beating Pep Guardiola’s side will be no easy task with Spurs having failed to beat City in their previous six Premier League meetings.

Since Mourinho took charge, the North London outfit have picked up 20 points from a possible 36 matches but were on a four-match winless streak prior to a 2-1 victory over Norwich City last time out.

So which players will be tasked with the challenge of getting a result against City? Here we predict Jose Mourinho’s line-up for Sunday’s showdown…..

Goalkeeper: Having returned from injury for the win over Norwich, Hugo Lloris will stay between the sticks.

Defenders: With Serge Aurier the only natural right-back, the Ivorian is expected to continue in this role. In-form youngster Japhet Tanganga should play from the left, especially with Ben Davies injured and Danny Rose having joined Newcastle United on loan.

At centre-back, we’re expecting the experienced Belgian pair of Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld to get the nod over Davinson Sanchez.

Midfielders: With Moussa Sissoko sidelined, we expect Mourinho to opt for Harry Winks and Giovani Lo Celso, who signed permanently from Real Betis in the week, to start. Elsewhere, Tanguy Ndombele is fit to play and should slot in alongside the Englishman and Argentine.

Forwards: New signing Steven Bergwijn is available but is expected to make his debut from the bench. With Harry Kane injured this means the attacking duties will once again be with Dele Alli, Lucas Moura and Son Heung-min.
