Tottenham Hotspur boss Thomas Frank will hope to see his side return to winning ways when they face West Ham United after the international break.

The Lilywhites won their opening two matches of the new Premier League season, but a 1-0 defeat at home against Bournemouth in their last outing ended that run.

Frank, who left Brentford to take charge of Spurs over the summer, will expect to see his side beat the Hammers, who have struggled so far this season.

In the meantime, it appears that Tottenham are still interested in one of Ligue 1’s most exciting stars.

According to CaughtOffside, the North London outfit remain interested in Lyon star Malick Fofana, despite failing to sign the player this summer.

The report claims that Spurs made a move to sign the 20-year-old towards the end of the recent summer transfer window, but Lyon rejected the proposal as they wouldn’t have had enough time to sign a replacement.

Fofana has been in fine form for the French side over the past 12 months, having joined Lyon from Belgian side Gent last year.

In total he has now scored 16 goals and registered eight assists in 65 games for the club, but his impressive displays haven’t gone unnoticed.

It is claimed that Spurs are set to reignite their interest in the winger in January, with a fresh approach to sign the youngster.

Fofana, who primarily plays on the left flank, is under contract with Lyon until the end of the 2027/28 season.

Lyon are said to be demanding a fee in the region of £43.3 million to allow the young winger to depart the club, but it remains to be seen whether or not Tottenham would be willing to meet those demands.
