CDM: Eric Dier (Tottenham)

Having originally come into Spurs as a centre back, Pochettino has deployed Dier as a defensive midfielder this season, playing behind Ryan Mason and Christian Eriksen. The English youngster has featured in all eight games so far this season, scoring two goals. However, it has been his defensive displays that have impressed the Argentine boss, and his ability to push forward with the team once the ball has been won.

CM: James Milner (Liverpool)

Signed on a free transfer from Manchester City in the summer, Milner was talked about as being one of the signings of the window. His work rate and passion to succeed has endeared him to Liverpool fans already, and he has been rewarded with the vice-captaincy. The 29-year-old has already provided two assists and chipped in with one goal, but fans will see him as the engine of the team rather than the man to score goals from midfield.

AM: Adam Lallana (Liverpool)

Lallana struggled to reach the heights of his price tag when he arrived at Anfield last season. Injuring his knee in pre-season, he missed the opening four games of the season. After his injury Lallana struggled to impress, but he seems to have turned his mentality around this campaign. With captain Jordan Henderson out for a number of weeks, Lallana has seized his chance for club and country with a number of impressive performances.

AM: Philippe Coutinho (Liverpool)

“The little magician” has been the man set with the task of filling Luis Suarez’s shoes since he left for Barcelona two seasons ago. Becoming increasingly known for his mazy runs and long range strikes, Coutinho has become a fans favourite. Still only 23-years-old, the boy from Brazil has bags of potential, and so Liverpool will be hoping the arrival of Klopp, and a better season will fend off interest from Barcelona and Real Madrid.

AM: Christian Eriksen (Tottenham)

The Dane is a fan favourite at White Hart Lane and Spurs fans will be hoping he stays for years to come. After arriving from Ajax, Eriksen has become the man for the big occasion, scoring multiple free-kicks and last minute goals, including crucial strikes last season against Swansea and Sunderland. He is a talent that will attract a lot of interest around Europe, and so Spurs will be looking to secure Champions League football this time round to keep him in London.
