Tottenham will reportedly demand a fee of £54m if England international Danny Rose leaves before the close of the summer transfer window, according to the Independent.
The Premier League side, who lost 2-1 at Wembley Stadium to defending league champions Chelsea on Sunday, will hold ‘decisive talks’ with the left-back over his future at Spurs amid interest from rivals Manchester United and Chelsea.
The 27-year-old, who has 12 international caps for The Three Lions, has missed Tottenham’s start to the 2017-18 campaign due to his ongoing rehabilitation from knee ligament damage suffered earlier this year.
Rose, who joined the North London outfit back in July 2007 following his reported £1m switch from Leeds United, scored two goals and provided four assists in 21 appearances in all competitions for Mauricio Pochettino’s side last season.
However, the full-back’s future at Spurs has been thrown into uncertainty following the Englishman’s interview with The Sun, where he criticised the club’s wage structure and transfer policy, alerting United and Chelsea to his possible availability before next Thursday’s transfer window deadline (August 31).
The report suggests Tottenham will demand at least as much money as they pocketed from fellow defender Kyle Walker’s move to Manchester City earlier this summer – an initial £50m, with £4m in add-ons.
Rose has netted 10 times in 144 games overall for Spurs, and only signed a new five-year deal last September.
United boss Jose Mourinho has already splashed out £146m this summer on Victor Lindelof, Nemanja Matic and Romelu Lukaku, meanwhile Blues manager Antonio Conte has signed Alvaro Morata (£60m), Tiemoue Bakayoko (£40m), Antono Rudiger (£29m) and goalkeeper Willy Caballero (free).
