Transfer Talk: Three players Chelsea have been linked with this week

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has brought a young fresh look to his old club.

Chelsea currently sit fourth in the Premier League in what is Frank Lampard’s first season in charge at the club.

But despite holding that all important final Champions League place, the Blues boss will not be happy with his side’s inconsistency which has seen them lose eight of their 23 matches.

After having their FIFA transfer ban lifted in December, it was expected that the West London club would bolster their squad this month.

Although no signings have yet been sealed, Chelsea are reportedly looking at a number of targets.

But which players could be making their way to Stamford Bridge between now and the end of the window?

Here’s three names the Blues have been linked with over the past seven days…

Timo Werner

The Sunday Mirror report that Chelsea have opened negotiations over the signing of RB Leipzig star Timo Werner.

Werner has scored 25 goals in 26 matches for the Bundesliga table toppers this term, adding to the 61 club-goals he’s notched the previous three seasons.

And it’s claimed the Blues have their eyes set on a deal to bring the Germany international to the Premier League.

However, it’s thought that Chelsea’s could face competition from Liverpool for the 23-year-old who’s valued at £60million.

Jude Bellingham

Chelsea are set to battle two Premier League rivals for the signature of Birmingham City starlet Jude Bellingham, according to The Sun.

The 16-year-old became the Blues’ youngest ever player and goalscorer in what has been a breakthrough season.

But it’s claimed that the St Andrew’s outfit will face a battle to keep hold of the England youth international with the Blues, Manchester United and Arsenal all keen.

The midfielder, who’s claimed to have caught the attention of Frank Lampard, is a regular in Birmingham’s XI and has four league goals to his name this term.

Lewis Dunk

Frank Lampard has his eyes set on a possible swoop for Brighton & Hove Albion captain Lewis Dunk, according to the Star Sport (via the Daily Star).

The 28-year-old has been with the Seagulls his whole career to date and has missed just four Premier League games since the club were promoted to the top-flight in 2017.

It’s claimed that Chelsea are set to offer £48million in an attempt to land the one-time England international.

If a deal did materialise then Dunk would compete with Antonio Rudiger, Kurt Zouma, Anders Christiansen and Fikayo Tomori for a spot at centre-back.
