Man United must let go of these two players in January

With the January transfer window fast approaching Man United will be searching the market for players who can add to their team. But before United can make these additions they’ll have to clear space in the squad for them beforehand.

Jose Mourinho’s side are starting to show signs of life this campaign following a disappointing start, that at one point was dubbed United’s worst ever start to a Premier League season.

Whilst a push for the Premier League title is looking unlikely, United by no means have nothing to play for during the second half of the season. They are still in with a big shout of qualifying for next seasons Champions League. The club will be desperate to get back to European football’s top table.

The money-men at Old Trafford will be looking to move on players considered deadwood this window, to make room for players that can contribute more. With that said here’s TWO players we here at Shoot! reckon United should let go this January.

Memphis Depay

Memphis Depay has struggled to contribute at United since his big-money move from PSV in 2015. There have been question marks regarding the 22-year-old’s attitude, and therefore his ability to fight for his place in the team.

Big things were expected from Depay, who, after a stunning season at PSV, starred at the world cup for Louis Van Gaal’s Netherlands. So far we have seen flashes of quality, but not with anywhere near the amount of regularity needed to nail down a spot at United.

He appears to be bang out-of-favour since the arrival of Jose Mourinho, having only made 4 Premier League appearances so far this campaign. The Dutchman should be moved on this January to make room for a player that can contribute on a more regular basis.

Morgan Schneiderlin

Morgan Schneiderlin’s dream move to United appears to be ending way earlier than he would have expected. He moved during the summer of 2015 following an immaculate season at Southampton, in which he was one of the standout midfielders of the campaign.

He has never really got going at United and this season has only made a measly 3 Premier League appearances for Jose Mourinho’s side. He needs to move on and get regular minutes, luckily for the Frenchman he seems to have plenty of suitors with Everton leading the race as it stands.

United should get good money for the 27-year-old, money that could be utilised to bring in a player that Jose Mourinho rates more and can help in United’s push for Champions League qualification during the second half of the season.
