Aston Villa are set to appoint Remi Garde as their new manager on a three-and-a-half-year deal.
The Frenchman has been the strong favourite to take the job since the moment Tim Sherwood was sacked eight days ago.
Villa are bottom of the top flight with four points from 10 games and their new boss will watch his side play Tottenham on Monday night.
He will be joined at Villa Park by Bastia coach Reginald Ray and the pair will take on leaders Manchester City in their first match on Sunday.
Garde, a former Arsenal player, has been out of work since ending his three-year spell in charge of Lyon at the end of the 2013/14 season.
He guided the Ligue 1 club to the French Cup in 2012.
