Aston Villa are lining up bids for Tottenham Hotspur wingers Aaron Lennon and Andros Townsend.

The Villans were in talks with Spurs striker Emmanuel Adebayor, but the striker has returned to London with the deal in danger of collapsing.

This hasn’t stopped Tim Sherwood targeting his old clubs for new recruits with the two England international’s now firmly in his sight.

Lennon is surplus to requirements at White Hart Lane and spent the second half of last season on loan at Everton.

Townsend, who’s been linked with the Villans ever since Sherwood took charge, is seen more of an impact player rather than a regular starter, and with Euro 2016 on the horizon he wants to be playing regular football.

It is expected the pair would cost a combined £15m, with the Midlands side still having cash to spend following the sales of Christian Benteke and Fabian Delph.
