Watford have been linked with a surprise swoop for Liverpool’s out-of-favour striker Mario Balotelli.
The Premier League newboys, who have drawn their opening two league games of the new season, are reportedly interested in the Italy international after drawing a blank against West Brom on Saturday.
The 25-year-old, who has 33 international caps, scored just four goals in 28 games in all competitions during his debut season at Anfield following his summer move from AC Milan last year.
Balotelli, who has failed to feature for Brendan Rodgers’ Reds so far this campaign, could link up with one-time international teammate Alessandro Diamanti after the midfielder sealed a season-long loan move to the Hornets yesterday.
