Watford are reportedly interested in making defender Nathan Ake’s loan spell at the club permanent this summer, according to the Daily Mirror.

The Premier League outfit, who currently sit 14th in the standings respectively after their latest defeat to the hands of Stoke City at the weekend, would like to strike a permanent deal with his parent club Chelsea at the end of the current 2015-16 campaign following his impressive displays this term.

The 21-year-old; who has represented the Netherlands’ Under-21 squad 18 times, has scored one goal in 23 appearances in all competitions so far for Quique Sanchez Flores’ side this season, netting in their impressive 3-0 win over Liverpool back in December.

Ake, who originally arrived at Vicarage Road on a season-long loan deal back in August 2015, has been with defending Premier League champions Chelsea since joining the Blues’ youth academy ranks as a 15-year-old.

The report suggests that the Dutch defender could be available for around £3m this summer.
