Nottingham Forest have reportedly had an ambitious loan bid for Watford’s Matej Vydra turned down.
The Championship outfit, who are only eligible to complete loan signings or free agents due to their transfer embargo, have made the Czech Republic international their top target as boss Dougie Freedman looks to strengthen his attacking options before the close of the transfer window.
The 23-year-old, who only joined the Hornets on a permanent basis from Udinese earlier this summer, scored 16 goals in 45 appearances in all competitions to help Watford gain promotion to the Premier League last term.
However Vydra, who has 14 international caps to his name, has been an unused substitute during his club’s opening two league games this season, encouraging Forest to make an audacious loan swoop for the forward.
