Wenger must scout these 3 players for Arsenal over the international break

International football is what all fans have got to look forward to over the next two weeks, with a number of important World Cup qualifiers taking place.

Gareth Southgate takes charge of England for the first time on Saturday at home to Malta, before embarking on his first away trip as manager in Slovenia the following Tuesday.

Yet, although the international break sees a reduced fixture list in club football, many Premier League managers may use their time scouting players that they could sign in transfer windows to come.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger may be one of those looking across the globe at potential signings. His side have bounced back after a sluggish start to the season, and a 1-0 win at Burnley on Sunday moved the Gunners up to third in the league.

However, it seems looks like the North London side may be short in certain areas, so here are THREE players they should scout over the international break…

Jonathan Tah

Although the centre-back partnership of Laurent Koscielny and Shkodran Mustafi seems to be developing into a very good one, Wenger and his scouting team may want to consider adding more quality to that area.

Going to watch the German Under-21 side, and indeed Jonathan Tah, against Russia and Austria could be a good place to start.

20-year-old Tah is a ball-playing defender, much in the same way as Manchester City’s John Stones and, as a result, would complement Wenger’s style of football at the Emirates.

England fans may recognise the name from their side’s 3-2 win in Germany last year, and he’s someone who is attracting a fair bit of interest from across Europe.

Arsenal will likely not be the only side keeping tabs on him if they go and watch him this week.

Andrea Belotti

The striking department has been one lacking in depth in recent years at Arsenal, although the signing of Lucas Perez alongside Wenger using Alexis Sanchez in that role appears to be strengthening it.

However, the scouting team may want to head off and watch Italian forward, Andrea Belotti in the next few weeks.

The 22-year-old netted 12 times in Serie A for Torino last season, and has already started this campaign in fine form, scoring five goals in six games, including a hat-trick in a 5-2 win over Bologna.

He is being widely tipped to be a star in the future in Italy, so Arsenal should take a look at him and identify whether or not he could also be a star in England.

Christian Pulisic

Christian Pulisic is an American international who is being tipped to have a big future in the game.

The 18-year-old is regularly getting into the Borussia Dortmund first team squad, and came on as a second half substitute in their 2-2 home draw with Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League last week.

The midfielder is a modern-day number 10, with excellent ability on the ball and great vision when going forward.

At the age of 18, he’s only going to get better as well, and is already a part of Jurgen Klinsmann’s senior US squad, playing six times for America last season.
