The FA Cup semi-finals conclude on Sunday afternoon (15:00), as Premier League heavyweights Arsenal and Manchester City go head-to-head at Wembley Stadium.

The Gunners, who thumped National League outfit Lincoln City 5-0 in the previous round, have slipped seven points adrift of tomorrow’s opponents, who occupy fourth spot in the top-flight table.

Meanwhile The Citizens, who beat Middlesbrough 2-0 in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup, are looking to build upon back-to-back league wins over Hull City and Southampton respectively.

For Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger, it could be the Frenchman’s last shot of silverware with The Gunners, with his future at the Emirates Stadium still up in the air beyond this summer.

Having won the competition six times during his time in North London, Wenger has a decent track record in the FA Cup and will be determined to get past Pep Guardiola’s City to return to Wembley in next month’s final.

But in order to do that, here is THREE players Shoot! think Wenger must drop for Sunday’s semi-final…

Gabriel

Either Gabriel Paulista or Rob Holding should make way for Hector Bellerin in Sunday’s semi-final, after the full-back came on during the dying embers of Arsenal’s 2-1 win over Middlesbrough on Monday night.

But with 21-year-old Holding impressing at The Riverside, Wenger should drop Brazilian Gabriel to hand Bellerin a start, as his blistering pace and attacking ability could prove key against Manchester City at the national stadium.

Nacho Monreal

With winger Theo Walcott enjoying a productive 2016-17 FA Cup campaign, defender Nacho Monreal may be dropped for the forward tomorrow afternoon.

The 31-year-old started as a wideman against Middlesbrough earlier this week, but the full-back often looked uncomfortable and struggled to adapt to the wing-back role deployed to him by Wenger.

Despite Walcott being an unused substitute at The Riverside on Monday night, the England international has scored five goals in three FA Cup outings, and should be unleashed on The Citizens.

Olivier Giroud

The France international striker was ineffective against Boro in midweek, hardly the performance he was looking for ahead of Sunday’s semi-final clash.

The 30-year-old, who played the full 90 minutes in Monday’s Premier League tie, is expected to be restricted to the bench at Wembley Stadium, with fellow forward Alexis Sanchez taking centre stage, having scored 23 goals in all competitions this season.

Giroud’s omission could see manager Wenger start an extra defender or midfielder, with the likes of Alex Iwobi and Francis Coquelin vying for starting spots.
