West Brom face competition from Crystal Palace for the signing of Ferland Mendy.

According to a report on Sky Sports News the left-back from Le Havre is being watched by four English clubs with Birmingham City and Brighton also showing interest in the £7m rated defender.

There seems to be a glut of clubs looking for a left-back with Mendy’s impressive form for Le Havre bringing him to the attention of English scouts.

With just a year left on his contract the 21-year-old is certain to be sold with Le Havre hoping for a bidding war to break out.

Tony Pulis has expanded his scouting activity outside of England and has received impressive reports about Mendy.

With Crystal Palace currently managerless West Brom have an edge over the London side with Pulis keen to consolidate or even improve on last season’s form which saw the club in the top half of the table throughout the season.
