Boaz Myhill
With West Brom being joint-bottom for being the Premier League’s lowest scoring team so far this term; matched only by Watford’s tally of eight strikes, you would think that Tony Pulis’ side would be hovering perilously above the danger zone after their opening ten league games. Oh no! Think again. The Baggies have sharpened up their defence immensely so far this campaign, with Craig Dawson brimming in confidence at centre-half and the heroic Boaz Myhill in splendid form. The 32-year-old goalkeeper, who has only made 64 first-team appearances for the Midlands club since 2010, has dealt with the responsibility of being the club’s number one this campaign terrifically in the absence of Ben Foster. In fact; Myhill has been so good between the sticks, only England and Manchester City shot stopper Joe Hart can match the Wales international’s six clean sheets so far this term, in which he has conceded just 11 goals overall. Myhill has been manager Pulis’ knight in shining armour; helping lead his men from the very back of the pack by keeping clean sheets in his last two games to inspire West Brom to snatch maximum points with narrow 1-0 victories over West Brom and Norwich City respectively.
