Both West Ham and Watford have declared their interest in Newcastle defender, Daryl Janmaat, as they look to offer him a return to Premier League football, according to the Daily Mail.

The Dutch international is reportedly open to a move back to the top flight and looks set to follow former Magpies teammates Andros Townsend and Georginio Wijnaldum out of the Championship.

The Hammers are in desperate need of a right back, with Croatian manager Slaven Bilic currently asking attacking midfielder, Michail Antonio to play at the back, a position – it is fair to say- he is not suited to.

The right back joined the Toon Army in 2014 for a fee of £5.1m and has gone on to make 77 appearances for the side, including two in the Championship this season, and has bagged 4 goals during his time in England.

However, a stumbling block for both clubs is Rafa Benitez’ £10m valuation of the former Feyenoord man, however, as the Mail suggest, with the transfer deadline closing in the Spanish manager may be forced to sell.
